Features Review
The iPhone 11 Pro stands out from the iPhone 11 series in two strengths: Apple’s best camera technology is shown here in a compact housing made of stable gorilla glass. And the A13 Bionic processor enables the use of the latest image processing in real time.
The cell phone displays images from several lenses in parallel – the viewing angle can be changed up to 30 days later. With the Pro series, Apple not only draws the same level with the camera with the best Android phones, but also with the battery life. The 11 Pro is a little shorter than the 11 Pro Max, but significantly longer than the previous XS.
Camera Quality
This triple camera is the biggest innovation of the iPhone 11 Pro. All three lenses come with a resolution of 12 megapixels. The normal camera (simple wide angle, f / 1.8 aperture) is similar to that of the predecessor XS, but uses a new sensor. In the test, the image quality was on a similar level to that of the XS, but copes with difficult lighting situations much more intelligently thanks to the intelligent image processing system and improved Smart HDR function.
Unlike the iPhone 11, the Pro models come with a double optical zoom or rather a telephoto lens(f / 2.0 aperture), as with X and XS. However, the ultra wide-angle lens with a viewing angle of 120 degrees is really new. Compared to the normal and telephoto lenses, it has two disadvantages: it is less light with an aperture of f / 2.4, and it also lacks the optical image stabilizer built into standard wide-angle and telephoto.
The new ultra-wide angle opens the door to new photo experiences: wide landscape or city panoramas are possible, and thanks to the typical distortion in the outside area, exciting viewing angles and perspectives. And: Even in narrow streets, even larger buildings can be photographed.
The second major innovation is the night mode of the main camera, which turns on automatically in dark surroundings. With this, the iPhone finally connects to the top models from Huawei and Google (Pixel) in the Android warehouse, which have long had a special night mode in addition to ultra-wide angles.
Speed and Performance
When it comes to performance, Apple sets new standards with the iPhone 11 Pro – again! The combination of the most important innovation, the new A13 bionic processor, and 4 GB of RAM offers extremely fast performance and excellent graphics performance. Like Huawei’s in-house Kirin 990 and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855, which are in Android smartphones, the processor is manufactured using the 7-nanometer process. According to Apple, the A13 should work 20 percent faster and 40 percent more efficiently.
The benchmarks show that the new A13 goes a step further. In the GFX benchmark, the new iPhones also clearly beat the currently most powerful Android phones. The system responds at lightning speed and app launches and browser performance are impressive.
Battery Life
The iPhone X and iPhone XS were also fast-charging. But the Pro models are the first iPhones to which Apple has included a quick-charging power supply from the factory. This charges with a power of up to 18 watts (instead of 5 watts for iPhone XS and iPhone 11). In the test, this paid off: after just 15 minutes, the battery of the iPhone 11 Pro was 24 percent charged, after 30 minutes even 45 percent. For comparison: The iPhone 11, which also comes with a 5-watt power adapter, only reached 8 percent after 15 minutes and 16% after 30 minutes.
Design and Display
From the front, there is no difference between the iPhone 11 Pro and Phone X and iPhone XS . The case dimensions are almost identical, the Pro is just a tad thicker and the buttons on the side are slightly down. On the back, however, three black circles jump into the face: the new triple camera.
The 5.8-inch display with OLED technology is still a stunner: very sharp (458 ppi; 2436×1125 pixels), very bright (841 candela), extremely high-contrast (165130: 1) and true to color (97.7 percent ). The display is better than that of the iPhone XS in all measuring points.
